Here are some new studies I created recently. Taking the time to read about these guys and really study the shapes of their skull has been an amazing exercise. I see some full body studies in the near future!

The Hunting Party
Earlier this year I was tasked with assembling a sculpting and modeling team for West Studios. Working along side Jim Van Den Bogart, Dustin Blattner and Ken Bishop we created a variety of sculpts based off the work of James Jean. These images were for Linkin Park's new album The Hunting Party. Below you can see one of the sculpts I worked on the most. Don't forget to check out West Studios to see more work from the amazing team!

Creature Crash Course
So many posts recently! I know, its crazy. It's amazing how much art you can create though if you don't play Battlefield.
I have been spending more time working on new personal work and getting back into teaching. I wanted to share a preview of what I have been working on for my new Creature Crash Course. His name is the Gungle and he is like a fairy but a bit more socially awkward. His wings peel back similar to a blooming flower. This exposes a gland that emits a gas like material that lifts and propels him through his environment. This gas leaves a glow or haze in the air that is similar to a wisp or other magical elements.

3D Creative
3D Creative was kind enough to interview me for their most recent issue. In the article I share some of my creative process, some of my adventures in the industry, and that my parents let me watch too many monster movies as a child. Head over and check it out! This issue is full of awesome ZBrush goodness!

Maleficent
These are some of the designs that I created for the film Maleficent. I'm a huge fan of the fantasy genre and had a great time contributing to this project.

Essence: Creatures
Earlier this year I was one of 8 authors who contributed to Ballistic's Creative Essence: Creatures. I was honored to work with Andrew Baker, Simon Webber, Martin Rezard, Josh Herman, Ian Joyner, James Van Den Bogart, and Aris Kolokontes. For months the team designed, sketched, sculpted, and painted countless creatures. In the end we created over 250 pages of never before seen creatures.
Below is one of the creatures I created call the Rhinodino.

The next creature is know as the Bog Bomber. He was inspired by WWII water mines, crocodiles, and the Chinese giant salamanders.

It's been way too long since I posted here. So to apologize here are some Dinosaurs! These were created as studies to learn some new shapes, anatomy, and because Dinos kicks ass!
I promise to share some new work and updates soon.
